About

The Division of Food and Nutrition (DFN) oversees and administers 13 of the 15 USDA feeding and nutrition programs. Through these programs, the division provides access to nutritious food to Nevada children, seniors, families, and other unserved populations.    DFN provides nutrition assistance through entitlement reimbursement programs that assist local schools, school districts, and other nonprofit and for-profit program sponsors/operators to ensure children are well nourished, healthy, and ready to learn. Our division also administers USDA Foods distribution programs grown and produced in the United States and purchases by the United States Department of Agriculture help strengthen the American agricultural market.
