The Outreach Program is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission it is to provide safe water, food, medical care, and education to children and those in need, at home and abroad. The Outreach Program, in cooperation with the Iowa State University Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, formulated a healthy meal program. This program ensures that each meal is nutritionally balanced to meet USDA dietary guidelines, plus tastes great! Each Outreach Program Meal is fortified with twenty-one essential vitamins and minerals to help make the most of every bite. The Outreach Program meals are shelf-stable for two years. More than 700 million meals have been distributed throughout the United States, international feeding organizations, and disaster relief programs.
