Financial Relief for the CACFP

On May 12, 2020, Representative David Trone (D-MD) proposed legislation, now included in The Heroes Act and passed by the House on May 15, 2020, that would provide financial relief for the CACFP Community including child care providers, centers, afterschool programs, emergency shelters, and sponsoring organizations.

Send a message to the Senate and the White House asking for their support of these provisions.
Pandemic Response: Grab & Go Meals for CACFP Centers

In Pennsylvania, It Takes A Village To Feed One Child provides prepackaged Grab & Go CACFP meals for eight childcare centers reaching over 250 children daily since April 1. They are serving 3 meals per day, 5 days per week per enrolled child and using the opportunity to also provide education supplies and exercises, baby food and formula, and other items. - Mark Wainwright, CMP, CCNP

FNS Extends Food Program Waivers

FNS is extending the following waivers nationwide through August 31, 2020:
Non-Congregate Feeding: FNS is allowing meals to be served to children outside of the normally-required group setting to support social distancing.
Parent Pickup: FNS is allowing parents and/or guardians to pick up meals and bring them home to their children.
Meal Times: FNS is waiving requirements that meals be served at certain standard times to allow for grab-n-go options. This also allows for multiple days-worth of meals to be provided at once.
