USDA Issues National Waivers

In response the Families First Coronovirus Response Act, USDA FNS has established nationwide waivers to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to the novel coronavirus. These waivers are effective immediately, and remain in effect through June 30, 2020, or until expiration of the federally declared public health emergency, whichever is earlier. Note: These are waivers that are automatically extended to State Agencies without need for application if they elect to use them. Program operators should look for communication from their State Agencies.

What CACFP Means To Me

I participate in the CACFP food program in my child development home program. I feel it is beneficial to ensure that every child is receiving a well balanced meal and snack while in my care. Many children get to experience first foods because of my program. We try a fruit or vegetable that most families wouldn't typically serve in this hectic world of convenience food. I survey parents and I utilize my 5 week rotating menu for easy meal planning. Thumbs up from me! ~ Becca English
