NCA Goes to Washington NCA President Senta Hester and Board Secretary Robin Paul visited with Senators to talk CACFP during Lobby Day -- an integral part of the National Anti-Hunger Policy Conference each year. Senators Klobuchar and Boozeman recently introduced S.Res.405 - A resolution designating the third week of March 2018 as "National CACFP Week" and we are humbled by their continued commitment to children across the country. Board Vice President, Kati Wagner, Policy Chair, Vicki Lipscomb, and Treasurer Melissa Moore also spent the day on the Hill visiting with Congressmen. |

Policy Updates CACFP Memos & Notices In January, two memos were released by the USDA: Providing Child Nutrition Program Benefits to Disaster Survivor Evacuees Market Basket Analysis when Procuring Program Goods and Modifying Contracted-For Product ListsIn February, the USDA extended the comment period for the Food Crediting in Child Nutrition Programs Request for Information. We encourage everyone to take action an share your thoughts with USDA. Deadline is April 23, 2018. Model Comment LetterIn March, The USDA and Health and Human Services are asking for public comments on the topics and scientific questions to inform our development of the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Public comment welcome through March 30th. The National CACFP Sponsors Association will be providing guidance in the near future. |
