Resources and Guidance for Providing Year-Round Meal Service

Serving meals to young people year-round benefits children, families, and care providers. To do this, many providers transition from operating the CACFP At-Risk Afterschool (ARAS) component during the school year to the SFSP while school is out. While many of the requirements are the same, there are differences in the meal patterns and program requirements that can be confusing. To help sponsors who operate both programs, NCA and No Kid Hungry created a comparison document outlining the main differences between the two programs.

To make it easier to provide year-round meal service, USDA released guidance to establishing a single application process for experienced program operators transitioning between CACFP ARAS and SFSP.
