Grain Bowls

This USDA Team Nutrition Cooks! handout includes recipes as well as step-by-step instructions for skills needed to cook grains in fun and appetizing ways; using ingredients you have on hand.
Whole grains, such as brown rice and quinoa, are fantastic: they are delicious and nutty-tasting, versatile, and are good for you too, since they are full of vitamins, minerals, and fiber.


Pandemic Response: Sullivan County Head Start

In New York, we have been providing CACFP meals weekly for pick-up and delivery to children enrolled at all of our centers. We provide one homemade hot meal each week for the parents to reheat at home for the children. We also have sent home educational materials, toothbrushes, formula, diapers, wipes and other items as needed to families.  Tammy Carlsen

CACFP Crediting Handbook

The Food Buying Guide for Child Nutrition Programs, (FBG) is the principal USDA resource to determine the contribution that foods make toward the meal pattern requirements in the CACFP. This revised handbook which reflects updated meal pattern requirements, is a supplementary resource to the FBG and contains additional information on creditable foods served.

Financial Relief for the CACFP Community

The House passed the bill that would give financial relief to child care providers, centers, afterschool programs, emergency shelters, and sponsoring organizations.

The Senate has not moved forward with it at all. Ask them to pass the bill and provide aid now.
