Afterschool & Summer Need Your Support
President Trump's budget calls for eliminating funding for local afterschool and summer programs. It's now up to Congress to counter the cut-or execute it and eliminate programs relied on by families across the nation to keep kids safe and engaged. Nearly two million children and families would be left without reliable afterschool choices and access to child nutrition programs. Join the Afterschool Alliance and call on Congress to protect funding for afterschool and summer learning programs. Letter to Congress

On behalf of your organization, you can also sign-on to the Afterschool Alliance letter calling for protection of at least current funding of $1.16 billion for 21st CCLC within the FY18 House and Senate spending bills.

Afterschool Meals
NCA Treasurer, Kati Wagner, presented the ABCs of Afterschool Meals at the National Afterschool Association's Convention in March. We also had a booth in the exhibit hall to raise awareness of the CACFP for Afterschool. Only one afterschool snack or meal is served for every 10 school lunches being served across the country according to Share Our Strength. Help close the gap. Find A Sponsor

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) At-Risk
Afterschool Meals Component provides funding to afterschool programs that serve a meal and/or
snacks to children and teens in low-income areas. There are a number of ways that local organizations
can be a part of the At-Risk Afterschool Meals component of CACFP.
