Showcasing the CACFP in Action

Jessica Dean, who has participated in the CACFP for 25 years, recently invited the recipient of the 2024 Friend of CACFP award, Congressman Marc Molinaro (R NY-19), to her day care to witness the power of the food program firsthand. We thank Jessica for being a passionate advocate for the CACFP, and also extend our gratitude to Representative Molinaro for continuing to be a champion of the food program in Congress.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Sunday, September 15. Check out one of our Hispanic Heritage recipes for Arroz Tapado, a delicious Peruvian dish that is packed with protein. Collection of Race and Ethnicity Data

USDA recently released new guidance to assist CACFP and SFSP program operators in meeting the annual requirement to collect race and ethnicity data of participants. The guidance includes a question-and-answer section to provide further clarification, as well as a section on best practices for the collection of data.
