November is World Vegan Month, which practices eliminating animal products in the diet. This includes foods like eggs and dairy products, while the term "plant-forward" puts the focus on these same kinds of plant-based foods but does not necessarily exclude them. Great news! Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, a longtime Friend of CACFP, introduced the Early Childhood Nutrition Improvement Act of 2023 along with Congressman Marc Molinaro. This bipartisan legislation would allow providers that are open for more than 8 hours to be reimbursed for an additional meal.
