Scholarship Application Now OpenFifteen scholarship opportunities are available from the National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA) for the 2022 National Child Nutrition Conference. Each scholarship will include conference registration, four (4) nights' lodging at the conference hotel, and up to $300.00 toward transportation costs. The deadline for submitting your application is Monday, January 10, 2022. |
DIY Trail MixNovember 17 is National Take a Hike Day. If you're planning to spend the day in nature, remember to pack some snacks. Try out this do-it-yourself trail mix from MyPlate for some #CACFPCreditable energy. This recipe is for ages 1-5, so remember to check the meal patterns for the proper serving sizes in older participants. In each baggie, choose two of the following and add 1/4 oz eq of each: pretzels; square corn, rice or wheat cereal, round oat cereal; or goldfish crackers. Note: if you would like to fulfill the whole grains requirement, BOTH grains must be whole grain-rich. Then choose between either 1/4 cup of dried fruits, such as raisins, cranberries and dried pineapples, or 1/2 oz eq of nuts and/or seeds, such as peanuts, almonds and sunflower seeds. |
