USDA Guidance on Fluid Milk Options

The expansion of fluid milk options that went into effect on June 8 allows operators to offer milk that meets the nutrition needs and preferences of those in their care. Operators have the discretion to decide which varieties of milk they will offer in their program, and may serve whole, reduced-fat (2%), low-fat (1%) or fat-free (skim) milk to participants ages two and up.

Paula Barton and Amy Warby are the Executive Director and Associate Director, respectively, at Alliance For Children, a sponsor of 208 family child care homes and 32 child care centers. Both have been able to witness the long-term impact that the CACFP has on the lives of children and providers, as Paula has worked at AFC for 35 years while Amy transitioned from being a provider herself. Paula plans to retire as Executive Director in October, and Amy will be stepping up to fill her position as the next leader of AFC.
